It's May and that means warm weather and the winding down of another wonderful year of preschool. Thank you again, on behalf of all our preschool staff, for allowing us to teach your child how unique and special they are in God's eyes! Your child is one-of-a-kind...and we can only smile as we watch them grow and mature into such a wonderful young person.

Your child will have their class picnic on their last class meeting of the school year (the week of May 20 - 24). Watch for details from your child's teacher regarding specifics such as exact time and location. Some will be picnicing in the preschool playground and some will be picnicing in the multipurpose room/gym...or in their room! Regardless, it will be a celebration to remember!
Our End of Year Chapel (for our 3's, 4's and Bridges classes) will be held in the Sanctuary at 12:00 noon the day of your child's picnic (either Thursday, May 23 or Friday, May 24). If you are an afternoon class, please remember to come EARLY that day...we don't want you to miss out! The children will be sharing their chapel praise songs and monthly Bible words. We will have these special Chapels recorded and put on a DVD for you to purchase for $10 here at the preschool office. An order form will be going home through your child's cubbie OR stop by the preschool office for more information.
Lost and Found Table: We will have items displayed that have been "unclaimed" in our preschool office for months. Please stop by this table and take a look...you may recognize something! Once our school is closed for the summer, we will donate all unclaimed items to a local charity.
Your 2012-2013 Parent Questionnaire will be coming home through your child's classroom cubbie sometime in May. Please take a minute and share your thoughts, suggestions, concerns about our preschool and drop in the white box just outside the preschool office. This information is important to us as we continue to try to provide an exceptional preschool program for the families in this area!

Kindergarten Kamp @ Mason Christian Preschool: August 6, 7, 8 and 13, 14, 15 A.M. (9:00 'til 11:30) or P.M. (12:00 'til 2:30). All six session for $80. This Kindergarten Kamp helps those children who are registered to attend Kindergarten this upcoming 2013-14 school year to "brush up" on those skills necessary for their upcoming experience. Taught by one of our veteran preschool teachers. Look for registration forms in the preschool hallway. Registration deadline: August 2, 2013.
Upcoming Events !School Bus Safety: We will have a Mason School bus parked in our preschool parking lot on Monday, May 20 and Tuesday, May 21 for our 4's and Bridges classes. The teachers will take each class on the bus and review safety policy such as how to wait safely for the bus, bus behavior while riding and how to safely exit the bus.
Mighty Warriors: Join others Dads and sons (preschool through 2nd grade) for this fun (FREE) event on Friday, May 17 from 7:00 'til 8:30. Discover what it means to be a Mighty Warrior for God and train our bodies and our spirits. Participate in a warrior dash; warrior foods; create your own shield and sword; learn how to shoot a bow and arrow. Sign up on line by Sunday, May 12; www.ccmason.org
Moms 'n Preschoolers "Make Your Own Pizza" Party: Wednesday, May 29 from 11:00 'til 1:00 in Kitchen/gym area inside Entrance #3. Come join us for a pizza party! Together you will make individual pizzas to eat for lunch. Siblings are welcome to join. Sign up on line for your "time slot" which is limited to only 10 families each. While others are baking their pizzas, families can fellowship together on the preschool playground. www.ccmason.org Cost is FREE with donations accepted.
Playdates in the Park: Join other families at different area parks for a time of fun with friends. these mornings are geared for parents with children aged 2 through 10 years, but eveyone is welcome! This is a great opportunity to meet other local families from not only Christ's Church at Mason, but from the surrounding areas. Park dates and locations to be announced soon at www.ccmasons.org. 2013 Vacation Bible School "Turn It Up!" July 22-25 (4 days) from 9:00 - 12:00 for children aged 5 (by Sept. 30, 2013) through 6th grade (entering in the fall). There will be programs for nursery through 4 year olds of Parent Volunteers who remain on site to help with VBS! Kick off carnival event on Sunday, July 21 in the evening! Preschool Deposit Deadline: August 1, 2013: Reminder that if your child is registered for the 2013-14 school year, your May 2013 tuition along with the supply fee will be due no later than August 1 for your registration to be guaranteed. You will be receiving a statement via EMAIL sometime late June or early July. We do have wait lists and will immediately fill any vacancies made available after the August 1st deadline. Mark your calendar: our 2012-13 school year begins the week of Tuesday, September 3rd! Parent Orientation will be held the evening of either Wednesday, August 28 or Thursday, August 29. Details for this meeting along with other "back to school" information will arrive in your home mailbox sometime mid-August.
What's going on in class!
Lambs 2 Years Miss Becky, along with all her assistants, will be sharing all kinds of fun activities this month as the children learn all about the letter "D"...dirt, dogs, donuts, daisies, dancing and dolphins! Dramatic play will include some good old fashioned dirt with worms and bugs to play in! Your child will hear some wonderful children's literature this month along with the story of the "Miraculous Catch of Fish" from the Bible! Our theme is: Big and Small, God Made them all...from bugs to dinosaurs!
The End of Year Picnic will be on the last class meeting the week of May 20. Picnics will begin at 12:00 noon for the Monday and Tuesday class or 10:45 a.m. for the Wednesday class. Bring a blanket or chairs along with a packed lunch for you and your child. At least one parent per child is needed for the picnic but all friends and family are invited to join in this year end party.
Minnows and Guppies 3 Years: Miss Megan is planning a month of "Springtime" as we talk about butterflies, frogs, plants and gardens. Lots planned as we make special gifts for Mother's and Father's Day! Please watch for details to come home through your child's cubbie about these special days!!! There will be dirt in the sensory table and lots of seeds to sort in the science center.

"Bears" and "Raccoons" 4 Years – Miss Linda and Miss Julie will be focusing their activities and games around Bugs, Mother's Day, T-shirts, Ice Cream and saying Goodbye to our preschool friends! Summer must be around the corner! Here are some important dates to jot down:
Tuesday or Wednesday, May 7 or 8: bring in 2 regular sized (any color) containers of playdough for upcoming special craft along with a WHITE t-shirt that will be decorated for your child to wear on their last day of school/picnic/End of Year Chapel!
Thursday, May 9 @ 11:30 a.m. 'til 1:00 p.m. or Friday, May 10 @ 10:00 a.m. 'til 11:30 a.m. or 12:45 p.m. 'til 2:00 p.m. for our "Muffins with Mom" special event. Details will be coming home through your child's cubbie. This is a special time for each child: please arrange for just ONE adult (mom, aunt, grandma, neighbor) to attend as space is very limited.
Thursday, May 23 or Friday, May 24: End of Year Picnic at 10:30 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. for "Bears" (Miss Linda's class) and 10:45 a.m. for "Raccoons" (Miss Julie's class) Our special End of Year Chapel is at 12:00 noon! (We picnic INSIDE in our climate-controlled and precipitation-proof gym!) Details for signing up for food, etc. will be at the classroom. Also note that we hope to have a Mason School bus parked in our preschool parkinglot Monday, May 20 and Tuesday, May 21 as we review with the children the importance of bus safety - especially for those going on to kindergarten next fall!
"Bridges" oldest 4 and 5 year olds - Miss Patty is preparing all sorts of activities to celebrate the important people in our lives: our Mothers and Fathers as well as all of our wonderful friends in class.
Friday, May 3rd : Highfield Discovery Garden Field Trip will be a great time! We hope to leave the building (carpooling with other parents as chaperones) at 9:00 a.m. sharp. Reminder: if you are driving children OTHER THAN YOUR OWN, please stop by the preschool office with your current drivers license and proof of insurance for us to photocopy. The program at Highfield is scheduled for 9:30 until 10:00 a.m. with playtime in the children's area (fun Treehouse!) immediately after. There will be just enough time following this for lunch (please provide a bagged lunch w/drink for your child AND YOU, if you come along!). We plan on returning to the preschool by 11:30 a.m. Cost is $4 each (child and adult) due by Friday, April 26 (cash only, please!)
